Mira Murati made a choice to step down from her position as Chief Technology Officer at OpenAI. This decision by Murati arose from the necessity of creating “time and space for personal exploration.”
Explaining such a “painful decision,” Murati decided to publish her resignation on X – “There is never a good time to exit from somewhere you actually love; However, this is the time to do so.”- “I am taking a step back because I feel that I want to create the time and the space to do my own exploration. Right now, my main objective is to do everything in my power to ensure a speedy transition and not lose the force we’ve built,” she said in the letter.
She said about her manager’s post thanks to Sam and their efforts as a part of the organistaion.
“I want to express huge gratitude to her for what she helped us build and achieve, but first of all, I want to thank her for all the support and love she gave me during all the difficult periods. I’m looking forward to what she will do next,” he admitted.
“We will speak on transition further very soon; however, at this point, I would like to sit in stillness and express my gratitude,” he added.
The company’s co-founder was informed that two other executives blocked and one is also leaving the company.
