The 15th edition of the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) 2024 has announced this year’s highly anticipated nominations. IFFM is one of the biggest Indian film festivals outside India and every year, its nominations mirror the diversity and richness of content from all over India.
IFFM 2024 Nominations In: Jawan, Chandu Champion, 12th Fail – Top Contenders; Made in Heaven Season 2 & Kohrra among Leading OTTs
An annual event supported by the Victorian Government in Australia, IFFM is an exposition about Indian cinema which showcases the best films, digital series and even talents from India. It intends to encourage cultural mixing as well as highlight just how diverse Indian cinema can be on an international platform. The festival aims to promote cultural exchange and celebrate the diversity of Indian cinema on an international stage. This year’s festival will begin on August 15 and end on August 25. The IFFM awards now represent some prominent yearly award season’s flagship awards that have been included language, scale and genres.
Star-studded Line-up And Anticipated Awards
This year at the competition for Best Actor category we will see Shah Rukh Khan competing with others like Vikrant Massey, Fahadh Faasil Ranveer Singh Kartik Aaryan Mithun Chakraborty etc. Similarly Alia Bhatt will face stiff competition for the Best Actress Award along with Jyothika who is one of India’s most talented actresses today and Parvathy Thiruvothu who had a breakout role in “Uyare” last year as well as newcomers from Laapataa Ladies such as Nitanshi Goel or Pratibha Ranta too. In this category also there are shows like Heeramandi Poacher and Made In Heaven Season2 etc., among other contenders.
Anticipation for the Gala Night
Winners of the prestigious IFFM 2024 Awards will be announced at their annual gala night during the festival on August 16 at Palais Theatre, Melbourne.
