Omar Abdullah said the BJP needs to resolve all issues in J&K first and no one is stopping them from merging Pakistan-occupied Kashmir with India.
Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Farooq Abdullah said Pakistan was not wearing a bracelet and would give up atomic bonds while responding to Defense Minister Rajnath Singh’s remarks that Pakistan-occupied Kashmir would be merged with India , which put him in trouble.
“If the defense minister says so, then go ahead. Who are we to stop. But remember, they (Pakistan) don’t wear bracelets either. It has atomic bombs and unfortunately, atomic bombs will fall on us,” said the National Conference president Abdullah said.
Abdullah’s son Omar Abdullah said that the BJP needs to solve all the problems in J&K first and that no one is stopping them from merging Pakistan-occupied Kashmir with India.
“Who stopped them? … Who are we to stop you? But they need to solve all the problems in the area first…” he said.
BJP reacts to Farooq’s remarks
BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi said,
“Today I draw your attention to a shocking statement in Indian politics. Farooq Abdullah said that Pakistan possesses atomic bombs. There are many such examples. The Congress LOP in Maharashtra issued a statement instead of providing it to Pakistan Covering fire. Just to get a few votes, you raise issues with the Indian Army,” he said.
Malook Nagar, national general secretary of the PPP, said: “I am ashamed of the people living in the country for making such remarks. When he (Farooq Abdullah) and his son ( Omar Abdullah) sounded like Pakistanis when they were interviewed when Article 370 was still in place… They should be ashamed… Such people have no right to live in this country…”
