First quarter of 2024 witnessed Netflix India Next which released the full list of web-series and movies that will be aired this year. It also contained a first look poster of IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack with outstanding actors like Naseeruddin Shah, Pankaj Kapur Vijay Varma, Arvind Swamy, Dia Mirza, Patralekha, Amrita Puri, Kumud Mishra, Manoj Pahwa and Anupam Tripathi from Squid Game in an enthralling story about hijacking of India-Nepal flight. Based on true events that netflix just dropped the first teaser for a show that launches on August 29.
Following up critically acclaimed Monica O My Darling and popular Scoop franchise, Netflix once again teams up with Matchbox Shots in association with Benaras Mediaworks to tell this terrifying tale of terror, crisis and heroism. Anubhav Sinha debuts as streaming director in the IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack. To those who are uninitiated into it this show is about the hijacking incident of 1999 which shook the nation then. Indian Airlines Flight IC 814 took off from Kathmandu for New Delhi on December 24th unaware that within next seven days it will plunge into a heart-wrenching ordeal full of intrigue and terror.
The six-episode series was created and written by Anubhav Sinha and Trishant Srivastava who provide an insight into what passengers and crews face while trapped inside an aircraft at thirty thousand feet high. As time ticks away mercilessly, the team in India races against time to unravel the hijackers’ sinister plot and bring everyone home safely, while fighting all odds. Unveiling on August 29th it is IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack – Landing on Netflix.
