Jennifer Aniston, a Hollywood actress, has publicly lashed out at Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance following comments he made about childless politicians which have recently gone viral on the internet.
On Thursday, the “The Morning Show” star went on her Instagram to discuss Vance’s statements first posted online by MeidasTouch Network head Ron Filipkowski. In his post, Filipkowski shared a 28-second clip of Vance talking of women who haven’t given birth from 2021 interview with Tucker Carlson Tonight.
Vance says in the video that “We are effectively run in this country… by a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they’ve made, and so they wanna make the rest of the country miserable, too. It’s just a basic fact. You look at Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg, AOC (Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez), the entire future of the Democrats is controlled by people without children. And how does it make any sense that we’ve turned our country over to people who don’t really have a direct stake in it?”
In response to this; Aniston took a screenshot of Filipkowski’s post. “I truly can’t believe this is coming from a potential VP of the United States All I can say is…Mr Vance, I pray that your daughter gets lucky enough to bear children one day herself and that IVF does not become her only option because you’re also taking away her chance for it.” she stated.
Vance’s derogatory and dismissive remarks while running for Ohio’s US Senate seat have been widely condemned. Specifically mentioned were Kamala Harris who has two stepchildren with husband Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff and Pete Buttigieg who became father through surrogacy to twins with his husband Chasten shortly after interview.
Aniston’s comments added fuel to growing opposition against Vance words, emphasizing the troubling implications of such viewpoints for public discourse and treatment of women’s reproductive rights.
