Ughhhh!!! I’m getting bored. Dil Chahta Hai – The movie is about friendship; however, Lakshya starring Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinta is a beautiful coming of age story of an unfocused young man who finds his calling in life at a military academy. The film received critical acclaim and on June 18, it completed 20 years with a heartfelt post by Farhan Akhtar’s production house Excel Entertainment along with Ritesh Sidhwani that will be re-released this week.
Hrithik Roshan, Preity Zinta starrer Lakshya completes 20 years; to re-release on June 21
According to the announcement made in the post, Lakshya is expected to hit the cinemas on this Friday, June 21st as it marks twenty years since its release. The lead cast including Hrithik Roshan, Preity Zinta and Amitabh Bachchan reposted a trailer of the film where audience can have a glimpse into what happens there. “Come relive the journey of a film that ignited countless dreams and inspired generations.Celebrating 20 years of Lakshya, back in cinemas on 21st June.” was what captioned this post.
Farhan Akhtar who directed the film expressed his joy over its re-release saying “This week we are celebrating its twentieth anniversary and we are pleased to bring it for you in select PVR INOX theatres. Seeing how much society has been affected by this movie has been the greatest reward for me and I thank all those involved in making it from their heart.” We are thrilled that it would be re-released on this twenty-year milestone making this anniversary even more special for us and hopefully you guys also feel so.”

What is Lakshya about?
Who cares? So Karan Shergill has got no direction in college and he’s a lazy ass unlike his girlfriend Romila Dutta who wants to be a journalist. In line with one of his friends footsteps, Karan bumps into military academy but though he experiences some hiccups in the first few days; he quickly grows up as a man and becomes a matured military officer and soon becoming an integral part of the battalion as Captain Karan Shergill turning into a war hero.

The movie was widely acclaimed not only for its unconventional plotline but also for its album that had music composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy while lyrics were penned by Javed Akhtar.
