Renowned music composer Vipin Reshammiya is no more. He happened to have been the father of renowned composer and actor Himesh Reshammiya and a veteran music composer in his own right, who passed away in Mumbai on September 18, 87 years. Like all such people Vipin too was a very senior and respectable person in the field of music. He also groomed Himesh, who grew to be a successful son of Vipin. The last rites are billed for September 19.
Vipin Reshammiya had been suffering from breathing difficulties and had been in a hospital in Mumbai before he died. His last rites will be performed at Juhu; the ashes of the deceased shall be brought to their residence shortly.
Vanitha Thapar, a close family friend of the deceased, continued her friendship with her and spoke to ETimes. She stated, “He was in Kokilaben and passed on at 8.30 in the evening on date. I am a family friend of his, rather, most of the times, I am family. I used to address him as papa when he was doing TV serials. There came a phase where he was a music director and then Himesh came. We are very close. Numerologist Anup Singh and me were also quite close to him.”
While being multitalented and a good composer, Vipin Reshammiya did not decide to enter the music world fully and chose instead to be there to encourage his son Himesh. Himesh has focused on making TV shows for Vipin while this other work brought him fame. He has unchecked Himesh’s pride in musical, that too clear cut from childhood.
In case someone isn’t aware of his other works, let me mention that he made The Xposé (2014) and Teraa Surroor (2016) with Himesh.
He also worked on music for the unreleased film Insaaf Ka Suraj (1990). Himesh once stated that his father had hoped to work with Salman Khan and that this eventually paved the way for Himesh’s first break as a music director in the 1998 film Jab Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya with Salman Khan and Kajol.
