Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah has threatened that, in the event of full-scale war against his Lebanese faction, Israel will find no refuge and he also warned Cyprus if it opened its airports to Israeli.
The enemy knows very well we are more than prepared for the worst. There is no place with rockets off-limits to us.
Us on land, by sea and by air and they know that.
It is feared by the enemy that resistance might one day breach Galilee in northern Israel; this could happen in a war thrust upon Lebanon, he said.
Israel shares borders with Gaza Strip, where Hamas attack took place with Palestinian militant group leading to near-daily exchanges of cross-border fire between Hezbollah and Israeli since October 7th.
Apart from that, in recent weeks there have been increasing exchanges and yesterday the IDF said “Operational plans for an offensive action against Lebanon were approved and ratified”.
This came after Foreign Minister Israel Katz had earlier warned about total war and destroying Hezbollah.
Nasrallah told Iran-backed media outlets on Monday his forces received information indicating Israel would use airports as well as military bases located on the Mediterranean island of Cyprus when Hezbollah attacks Israeli airports.
As Cypriot government opens its doors for both Lebanon as well as Israel which are situate along its coastlines being EU member state,
For opening up Cypriot airports and air bases to enemies is consider as part of war by Nasrallah. So far so good?
The Britain has held onto two areas called sovereign base areas (SBAs) ever since it granted Cyprus independence through treaties back in 1960.
Nasrallah’s latest statements followed US envoy Amos Hochstein’s call during a visit to Lebanon for “urgent” de-escalation a day before. He also met senior officials in Israel while visiting other Middle Eastern countries around too
Nothing like this can frighten us – neither what our enemy says nor what the mediators relay to us, including threats of war over Lebanon.
There was a nine minutes and twenty six second video Hezbollah released on Tuesday that showed aerial footage of northern Israel; they also claimed it showed what are sensitive military, energy and defense infrastructures and facilities in Haifa which is its headquarters.
The port of Haifa was photograph by a drone that flew for long hours over it according to Nasrallah.
Nasrallah added October had only seena portion of his group’s weaponries at work
“We have new weapons,” he said without any details. He didn’t elaborate further when he said “we have developed some others” but “there are more still.”
“Years ago we talked about 100,000 fighters… today, we have greatly exceeded” that number, Nasrallah added.
This means even in the worst possible conditions, the resistance has manpower far beyond its requirements.
On Wednesday Hezbollah announced that it launched several attacks against Israeli troops as well as positions within northern Israel while announcing death of four fighters from the group.
At least 478 people in Lebanon, mostly combatants but also including civilians have died as a result this cross-border violence (AFP).
According to Israeli officials, at least 15 soldiers and 11 civilians have lost their lives in the north of the country.
