Taha Shah Badussha, who played Tajdar in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s movie Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, talked about his journey to success. Taha later admitted; “The film industry has never been easy on me for 14 years.” However, even after trying harder and harder, for six years Taha Shah struggled like others in the industry despite his consistent calls to casting directors.

When he spoke to Instant Bollywood, the actor confessed frankly that he had used unusual means of networking with Bollywood personalities such as partying or calling at odd hours. “I have called casting directors for six years and they never picked up my calls,” he disclosed while narrating how he kept pushing for opportunities. Tellingly, Taha asserted that desperation was crucial in being successful saying that “You should be desperate. If you are not desperate in life, you will not get anything, and I am a live example of the same.”
Taha’s journey towards success was one marked by money problems and deceitful ways when it came to auditions where he would pay a lot of money as fees or gets scammed into paying again. “Before I got Yash Raj, I used to go eight-auditions-a-day. Sometimes I paid cash for auditions; something like 4000-10k rupees; there were times when I used to give all my fee.” Additionally, Taha faced challenges due to his unconventional looks but eventually overcame them thus gaining entry into Heeramandi which represented a milestone that ended many hardships suffered during difficult years of struggle.
