However, Sharmin Segal has become the target of the show in question. While the Netflix show was praised for its extensive sets and beauty; the audience heavily criticizes Sharmin’s acting abilities, another reason why she is being trolled is that she keeps on interrupting her co-actors during interviews.

Another video that went viral where she interrupted Aditi Rao Hydari in one of the interviews for Heeramandi promotions had many people talking. There were also interactions between Sharmin and co-stars Sanjeeda Sheikh and Richa Chadha in a Showsha video. When asked about working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali by Sandeja which was appreciated by the Ek Hasina Thi actress saying that he loved being around him as he is dedicated to his work and he never settles for anything less than perfect but before finishing her point about dedication as an actor and perfectionist film maker pointing out that Sanjay Leela Bhanssli is the director here ,she called Shaikh an outsider .This approach did not go down well with internet users who proceeded to tag her as a hypocrite because how dare she make comments about “privileged” children when she came from such family background?
After this video was posted on a social media platform when someone commented alongside it stating,”Sharmin gives out such mean girl energy”, netizens then followed suit slamming Segal. ”Yeah true cause if he was perfect he wouldn’t cast her cause she got no expressions!” one comment read while another said, “Why is this woman trying to always one up her colleagues. She did it with Aditi Rao Hydari and now Sanjeeda Sheikh – both btw who have much more experience, finesse and talent than her.” One of the viewers felt like sharing his/her opinion about Sharmin when he/she wrote, “I never tweeted anything against the acting skill or lack of it of #SharminSegal in #Heeramandi but this video is enough. Dear #SharminSegal , yes #SanjeedaSheikh is an outsider and yet when it comes to acting skills and hand work, she is light years ahead of you, want proof?” “”…Sanjidaa…that’s what she called her. Sanjeeda is HER SENIOR…” another social media user posted.
Despite all the bashing that has befallen Sharmin Segal on the account of her acting abilities as well as now because of how she behaves during interviews; according to her uncle Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Heeramandi casting director Shruti Mahajan believe that there was no nepotism involved in selecting cast members for Heeramandi because Segal was talented enough to be in the series.
