Hansal Mehta announces season 3 of Scam titled Scam 2010 – The Subrata Roy Saga based on founder of the business empire Sahara Group
Scam 2010 tells how a poor man Subrata Roy became an extraordinary businessman. By the early 2000s, his glamorous life was turned upside down as he was slapped with various accusations including chit-fund swindling and bogus investors leading him to jail in 2014. This scam shook the nation then and remains unresolved with still Rs.25,000 crore stuck with government agencies.
The tales of Indian economic scams are also covered by this franchise from Harshad Mehta’s meteoric rise to his subsequent downfall in stock market and the glum stories about Abdul Karim Telgi’s counterfeiting empire among others. Scam 2010 – The Subrata Roy Saga will be available on Sony LIV.
“The scam series is no longer just a show; it has become a pop culture icon,” said Sameer Nair, Managing Director at Applause Entertainment. “With Scam 2010: The Subrata Roy Saga we are ready to raise that bar even higher as we take audiences on an immersive journey into one of India’s boldest minds ever seen in business. This next season will be in the hands of Hansal, and we will partner with Sony LIV.”
Hansal Mehta, Show Runner and Director, “Scam is not just a franchise for me. It is a chronicling of our times. I’m thrilled to collaborate again with Applause and Sony LIV to bring this larger-than-life story alive.”
SonyLIV’s Danish Khan commented “We are delighted to be working once again with Applause and Hansal Mehta on Scam 3. The series has consistently been the most viewed franchise on Sony LIV and we are confident that the third edition will create newer benchmarks in compelling storytelling.”
