In Japan’s Tokyo, there is a unique bar that has attracted clients from all over the globe through its unconventional services. Muscle Girls Bar employs powerful women athletes such as Brazilian jiu-jitsu players, Fitness Influencers, pro-wrestlers and actresses who offer various forms of physical interactions to their customers according to South China Morning Post.
Customers can buy “muscle coins” for slaps, kicks or princess-like carries from the waitresses.
Some of these services go for up to $200 (30,000 yen). The most popular drinks in the bar are made by waitresses crushing grape fruits using their bare hands.
Also available is a service where customers can ride on the back of the waiters while they perform squats whose prices depend on the weight of a client. Maru one waitress weighs about 50kg but she can lift and carry a man weighing 130 kilos.
Hari opened this joint in 2020 as her gym closed down because of Covid-19 pandemic when he was still an internet fitness guru. Hari likes playing volleyball and believes in her ability to slap hard.
A Japanese man Hikaru smiled after being slapped; he said “the pain made me forget all my worries”. On one of its walls there is a map showing where visitors come from including such countries like Denmark, Mexico and Germany.
The staff have been praised by Samantha Low who says they challenge stereotypes of Japanese women that are considered weak and small-bodied. She said, “I really feel so free liberated in here.”
This bar has become quite popular on social media with some considering it as great way to relieve stress through its bodybuilding ladies while others find this very strange that someone would want to experience pain in drinking spot.
