‘Garbage’ election gathers steam and stench in final stretch amid

TOI correspondent from Washington: A group representing an unnamed sculptor has placed a poop emoji representing a pile of excreta in front of the US Capitol. The turd front could be a metaphor for the copulatory and fecal verbs and nouns that has been used, mostly by the Trump campaign in the most toxic US presidential elections in history.
Placed on a desk, the pile of poop slightly larger than a soccer ball has a satirical inscription that reads, “This memorial honors the brave men and women who broke into the United States Capitol on January 6th, 2021 to loot, urinate, and defecate throughout those hallowed halls in order to overturn an election.”
“President Trump celebrates these heroes of January 6th as ‘unbelievable patriots’ and ‘warriors.’ This monument stands as a testament to their daring sacrifice and lasting legacy,” the sign says.
The National Park Service which oversees the area said a group called Civic Crafted LLC filed for a permit to place the “memorial” for a week. It comes amid a fetid political discourse that includes use of expletives such as fuck, shit, pimp etc. The latest buzz word is the relatively mild garbage.
In the past few days, MAGA Supreme Donald Trump has likened the US to a “garbage can” with the rest of the world dumping illegal immigrants on it. At a Trump rally, a comedian called Puerto Rico, a US territory, an “island of garbage,” causing outrage in the Latino community. On Tuesday, President Biden shot back, “The only garbage I see floating out there is his (Trump’s) supporters,” triggering MAGA fury.
More than 50 million American voters have held their nose and voted in the what is arguable the most rancid election in US history, and it ain’t over yet.
Also on Tuesday, Vivian Jenna Wilson, estranged daughter of the world’s richest man Elon Musk, who is himself never short of profanity, unloaded on him in an expletive-laced post in which she called her father and all those who attended Trump’s MAGA rally in Madison Square Gardens racists.
“Honestly this isn’t worthy of the elaborate takedowns I normally do,” Wilson began. “F**k every single one of you motherf**kers who was at that Madison Square Garden rally, and f**k everyone who had anything to do with that racist bigoted bullshit.”
“The amount of sheer and blatant racism proudly on display was an absolute f****** disgrace, yet it would be a lie to say it was surprising. You all understood exactly what was being said, and historians will remember who cheered with disdain,” she added.
In another post, she said, “The lot of you are absolute f***wits and I hope you get exactly what you deserve. You want the world of which you speak? Go to Moscow, some of you are already in their pocket. Back in the day that was called treason.”
On his part, former President Trump maintained the MSG rally was a “lovefest.”
