On Monday, the French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal was accused of intentionally eclipsing the head of a list of ruling parties in European elections after he unexpectedly appeared on stage during a radio debate that she was participating in.
In the middle of an exchange between a presenter and Valerie Hayer, who leads the governing party’s list for the June 9 vote, Attal casually walked into Franceinfo’s radio debate with leading candidates. Hayer has not really made any progress with voters so far in this campaign where the far right in French looks poised to win, dealing a blow to President Macron’s ruling Renaissance party.
“Hi everybody, sorry I have just come out,” Attal told them as he looked at Hayer adding that it is important to him that he “pushes” Valerie along. He then took off on a few words about many topics such as climate change which can only be solved by Europe continent.. The left-wing MP Raquel Garrido from France Unbowed described this as “mansplaining or more accurately manterrupting”.
