For allegedly grabbing a valuable pieces of land, last week Karur’s Vangal police registered a case against the ex-Transport Minister and AIADMK district secretary M.R. Vijayabhaskar and his sibling Sekar.
A complaint by M. Prakash from Kuppuchipalayam led to Mr. Vijayabhaskar being charged under sections 247 (fraud), 294 (b) (uttering obscene words), 324 (causing hurt), 365 (kidnapping), 504 (provocation to break public peace) of Indian Penal Code. It was booked on June 22.
Tamil Nadu’s Crime Branch Criminal Investigation Department (CB-CID) dispatched a special police team to northern Indian states last week in search of Mr. Vijayabhaskar who has been absconding after his anticipatory bail application was dismissed by the District Sessions Court, Karur.
In his complaint, one M Prakash stated that together with some other persons Mr.Vijayabhaskar threatened his daughter Shobana Shobana and obtained signatures on fake property deeds in Kunnampatti and Thoranakkalpatti of D Raguof Kancheepuram, MSidhardhan of Erode as well as N Marappan and S Selvaraj of Karur worth about Rs 100 crore. These properties were signed away under duress-said he.! The original documents remained with me(the complainant). Mr.Prakash further alleged that he had given Mr.Vijayabhaskar ₹10 crores loan when he asked him to pay the loan with interest, the minister slapped him and threatened him of dire consequences. He was also attacked by Mr.Vijayabhaskar and his team over registering the properties at Kunnampatti and Thoranakkalpatti properties.
