The Badaga leader and former BJP MP, Master Mathan (91), died on Friday night after a short illness related to age in his house at Balaji Garden in Press Colony.
He is survived by his wife and three children. From 1998 to 1999, Nilgiris Lok Sabha constituency was represented by Mathan.
In the social media platform X (previously Twitter) Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences over the demise of ex-MP Master Mathan.
The Prime Minister’s message mourned “the passing away of” ex-MP Master Mathan and said that he will be remembered for his efforts in serving society as well as working for the poor. He also played an outstanding part in solidifying our party in Tamil Nadu. His sympathies went out to his family and supporters alike.
J.P.Nadda, BJP National president also mourns the death of Mr. Mathan saying it is unpardonable loss for the party.
