Florida cruise launches 4-year ‘skip forward’ tour for those looking to avoid Trump’s second presidential term

Following the US presidential election victory of Donald Trump, a Florida-based cruise line unveiled a unique four-year sailing package for ocean travellers. The Villa Vie Residences launched their “Skip Forward” package on November 7, soon after Trump’s victory confirmation as the of the 2024 presidential election.
The “Skip Forward” package is part of the Tour La Vie programme, with prices beginning at approximately £40,000 annually, according to the company press release. It also mentioned that travelers can board the Villa Vie Odyssey at any port along its ongoing global voyage, with the option to customise their journey from one to four years.

Whilst avoiding direct reference to the 2024 presidential race in their announcement, the company titled their two-year programme “Mid-Term Selection”, the same year US midterm elections are scheduled, while their one-year programme is titled “Escape from Reality“, whilst the three-year option is named “Everywhere but Home“.
According to their website, the four-year package costs £159,999 per person for shared accommodation or £255,999 for single occupancy. Villa Vie Residences’ website indicates that all programmes include comprehensive services.

Meanwhilee, head of Sales Anne Alms said in a statement, “Villa Vie offers a unique one-of-a-kind way [to] see the whole world at a slow pace where you have enough time to actually experience the cultural vibe of every port.” “Your villa is your bedroom, and the ship is your home, she’ll take you across the globe to endless horizons.”
Previously this year, the company had introduced an “Endless Horizons” package targeting those affected by inflation.
The Villa Vie Odyssey, which launched its inaugural three-and-a-half-year voyage last month, had faced delays due to the extensive preparation required to reactivate the 30-year-old vessel. Originally planned for a May departure, the ship underwent major refurbishments and had to pass new safety and equipment certifications after years of dormancy. The Odyssey, formerly known as the MS Braemar with Fred Olsen Cruise Lines, was purchased by Villa Vie in 2023 and has since been reconfigured for its new purpose.
