On Sunday, a five-year-old girl was injured in an acid attack near Ekkattuthangal Metro station.
A delinquent threw acid on people sleeping on the road next to the metro station. At around 8:30pm, Raja who had come riding a bike, threw an acid bottle onto the pavement and ran away as recorded in the complaint given by Revathy. She says her daughter Vaishnavi sustained burn injuries due to acid on her left hand and was admitted at a hospital for medical attention.
She lodged a complaint with the police stating that she had nabbed Raja about one month ago when he fled with her mobile phone and two-wheeler after stealing them. She contended that Raja sought revenge by throwing the bottle of acid at them on Sunday. Some special groups have been created to arrest Raja.
