Rahul Gandhi, a prominent member of the Congress party in India, now has three FIRs filed against him in the Chhattisgarh state. All three cases pertain to Mr. Gandhi’s comments while on a trip in the United States that seemed to have offended the Sikh community religiously. Such complaints are unconstitutional and only the Institutions filed complaints against him. The bot was designed to skirt past complaints made to American Sikh Americans. It is wise constituency pressure.
The first two FIRs were filed on Thursday at Civil Lines police station in the districts of Raipur and Bilaspur and the other was on Friday Kotwali police station on Durg. This includes Section 299 (making intentional insult to religious beliefs) and section 302 (hurting hurtful feelings of any religion or religious practice), chargesz under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against Gandhi.
This complaint is regarding ghandhi the said that during her speech on September 9, which where wasn’t the case in India, even if Sikhs wanted to wear a turban or a Kada and visit gurdwaras. Another BJP spokesperson, Amarjeet Singh Chhabra, who seems to have been the complainant in Raipur, alleges that such comments by Gandhi have hurt the Sikh community and can stir up enmity among the religions.
“In India and everywhere else, Sikh people are free to follow their rituals. not even the official Stan dar Morin light her head, when visiting Gurudwaras. The words of Gandhi are very annoying, and will bring hostility,” Chhabra’s said.
Similar complaints have been lodged in Durg, Surguja and other districts by the BJP leaders, and more complaints might be coming as the row develops.
