Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri is a director whose movies have always been controversial to say the least. Being one of the very few filmmakers in India who takes up social issues in the reel and in real life too, this is clear in how the filmmaker, Vivek Agnihotri, in the movie the Kashmir Files, highlighted the inhuman acts done on Kashmiri Pandits in Kashmir. The film went on to be a blockbuster hit and made coverage in different continents earning Vivek a lot of praises for what he does best.
This also stemmed from the latest as the filmmaker was recently invited to the Oxford Union, an elite society, and was expected to participate in a debate on Kashmir. Though the developer was unable to attend, he refused on the grounds that the subject was distasteful: pro- Pakistan, anti-India, pro-secessionist.
Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, who declined an offer to debate in the Oxford Union on Kashmir, decided to use social media to post the decline letter and stated: “IMPORTANT: I was invited by the prestigious Oxford Union to debate on Kashmir. During the debate I felt in offended, anti India and anti Kashmir. So I have declined the offer in principle. PFA my decline letter.”
