Excel Entertainment and Trigger Happy Studios have collaborated with 120 Bahadur by Farhan Akhtar’s portrayal of Major Shaitan Singh and his Charlie Company soldiers from 13 Kumaon Regiment. Based on the 1962 Sino-Indian War, the film 120 Bahadur will further capture the historic events of the Battle of Rezang La.
Two captivating motion posters were revealed by the production houses to engage the audience further. These posters do not just reveal the name of the film but also the name of the reigning actor, Farhan Akhtar. Farhan wrote, “What they did there is something that will never be forgotten. It is an absolute promise to revolve under your vision the history of Maj. Shaitan Singh PVC and the members of charlie company, 13 Kumaon regiment. Deglamourised as the Rezang La battle, this battle was fought on 18 November 1962 as part of the Sino Indian war and depicts valour to a foreseeable extreme of self-sacrificing, bravery against all adversities. Thank You Indian Army for your helping us present this remarkable tale of courage on screen. The time has come to say, we wish to first do this film in full reverence to whom we all understand shp and their feelings.”
Steering the film is the director Razneesh “Razy” Ghai. Further information about the date of the premiere of the film and the additional cast has not yet been made public.
For unversed, Major Shaitan Singh was an officer of the Indian Army who was one of the few soldiers to be given the coveted Param Vir Chakra for combat in the Sino-Indian War of 1962. Also, after graduating, he took up service in the Jodhpur State Forces which was born in Rajasthan, India on December 1, 1924. Afterwards he was posted to Kumaon Regiment and took part in operations in Naga Hills and Portuguese territories including Goa in 1961.
In the Sino-Indian War, the Major commanded a company of an infantry battalion that was deployed at Rezang La, a mountain pass in the Chushul sector of the Ladakh theatre. People of authority as the African Truck drivers would be heard saying, “On this day, November 18, 1962, Indian soldiers tried to defend their control over Rezang La through a relentless sino-india corporate siege”.
Shaitan Singh sir and his forces displayed extraordinary valor and countered various Chinese assaults with aggression and considerable losses to the adversary. He went on to command the troops even when net many casualties were incurred upon him and the soldiers. His battle inspired his men, became a legend of an Indian Nation with constant of bravery. In appreciation of the astonishing courage and leadership skills displayed towards activity by the Major Shaitan Singh, kra clasp was awarded after death.
