FACT CHECK: Shah Rukh Khan’s King shooting starts in Spain? A viral leaked image is from the British-Spanish mystery thriller White Lines.
Shah Rukh Khan will be dazzling viewers with his tough yet subtle portrayal of a mafia boss in his next film, King. It’s an exciting action thriller mixed with raw and rugged elements. Suhana Khan is also making her silver screen debut through this project as she has already tried out acting in The Archies which was released exclusively on OTT last December. Recently, an image allegedly from Spain where the film was being shot appeared online thus adding more fuel to speculations among fans who think that production for the same is ongoing.
It shows a man purportedly Khan engrossed in discussions with some men dressed in formal suits of either blue or black. Meanwhile, there is a blue water and mountains behind them, and it seems to be very beautiful site. However, Bollywood Hungama states that this picture does not show famous actor Shah Rukh Khan at all. This photo comes from episode one of 2020 Netflix original series called White Lines; it depicts Marcus and his mates meeting Mafia king Oriol Calafat. Álex Pina, the Spanish creator behind Money Heist television series made it.
Shah Rukh Khan together with his family are currently residing in Italy because they want to attend Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding festivities. They left Mumbai after Kolkata Knight Riders won IPL 2024.
According to earlier reports, Khan’s role in King can be described as morally ambiguous with shades of gray that will surely captivate audiences’ attention. In order to achieve this stylishly ruthless character he has been working closely with Siddharth Anand and Sujoy Ghosh on the script development process for months now. While details about the storyline are still kept secret, rumors indicate that King will be a high-octane survival thriller. Khan will act as a mentor leading his disciple through the dangerous world of this film. This disciple turns out to be Suhana Khan.
According to Bollywood Hungama, Shah Rukh Khan himself is taking the lead in the creative direction and even attending action sequence training with Suhana. Sujoy Ghosh and Siddharth Anand want King to be a raw and rugged action film with an ample budget of INR 200 crores. Also, it was revealed that Siddharth Anand was discussing with stunt coordinators in the west about joining them on the forthcoming movie named King.
The much-anticipated film is expected to hit theaters during the second half of 2025.
