All those injured were a result of a terrifying shooting but one who witnessed the scene wrote the devastating Interstate 75 incident was ‘a scary’ in quote -‘a witness who has given details of some of the shooting.
As I did not want to give my name, one person portrayed a bitter incident and said, The car was a black SUV, the person was white, without a shirt red hat when back on blue dresses, Jeans, and was running through the intersection. Itt Am here by the trailer stopped at the lot.
The witness had only left Wildcat ATV park and was standing ‘outside’ the suspect Joseph A.Couch who sprinted by and disappeared into the thickets north of exit 49. He reported that police promptly surrounded the vicinity WKYT reported. “Had I not been the one to snap a brake line, I would have been on the interstate where he was shooting. How scary was that?” the witness continued.
Laurel County Sheriff John Root stated that gun fire started Saturday at approximately 5:30 p.m. eastern US time at over 8 miles north London, on highway exit 49. Captain Richard Dalrymple of the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office that approximately a dozen vehicles either were images of victims of that bounty of bulletts.
Couch was quick to hit the list of suspects after police found and recovered his parked, accusing SUV and an AR-15 assault rifle close to the incident area.
Multiple 911 calls were made after the shooting. WKYT received close to 20 calls done by different people spanning almost 20 minutes Smarting Media Loading.
“Yeah, I am at the 49 exit and I am driving towards Lexington. I just got hit, on the southbound side, that I have just exited from,” recalled one man in a call to the dispatch.
Some mention their cars being on the receiving end of several bullets while others mention people being shot at.
“She is bleeding a lot. I am trying to control the bleeding,” one of the callers added.
“I am here, my leg has been shot. She is fully awake up to thispart, and she is feeling a little sluggish, she is starting to feel numb,” said the caller in another call later.
The medical thanks giving thanked each caller and instructed all the callers directed towards themselves on the telephone to sit down where they were and not drive off in search of help.
What is Joseph A. Couch?
The search for Couch was on after the authorities pledged that they would not rest until he was captured after the incident in which five people were injured.
Couch is a former member of the national guard where he served for four years in an engineer battalion. He went out of the army and out of the troubles of the law with only minor offenses like the one in the year 2015 convicting him of criminal mischief and unlawful transactions with a minor. And in the onset of this year, he was charged with ‘terroristic threatening’ only for the case to be ordered dismissed as the victim failed to show up in court.
The authorities continue to question Couch regarding the shooting, which they regarded as an act of violence against random people. There were no pre-established targets, nor did law enforcement officials claim that this assault was somehow prepared.
Police Offer Reward for Information
Randall Weddle the Mayor of London requested supporters to assist to bring down the suspected assailant and reiterated that they should be vigilant.
‘If you are uneasy or if you believe there is someone lurking outside your house, please do call 911,’ Weddle told over the phone to CBS affiliate WKYT-TV on Monday. ‘Given that there are a couple of units here, someone’s going to reach you in no time.’
Weddle also claimed that a $10,000 offer has been made by a secret philanthropist in exchange for ideas that would help in apprehending the vulnerable-assailant.
In another report, the Kentucky State Police reported that they were offering a bounty of $5,000 and so on and so forth, the total reported amount was $15,000.
