Earlier this year, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s last project, the web series Heeramandi: The Diamond Baazar, also found its home on Netflix. Thereafter, there is lots of curiosity here about his next film in the form of Love and War. Stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal in a single film.
It is now known that the film will go into production in the near future. An industry insider familiar with the matter has informed Bollywood Hungama that Bhansali will start filming Love and War once next month. “There is a lot of interest in what comes after Heeramandi. There appears to be great excitement for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next Love and War. Besides the jack-in-the-box title, Ranbir, Alia, and Vicky have always kept the film in news. Shooting of the movie will now commence on October 24 and the first schedule will commence then,” said the source.
While it is still not known how long will the first spell of shooting for the film will be, it is said as much that it will be extended keeping in sight Bhansali’s vision and perfection.
Love and War will see Vicky Kaushal in the Bhansali chair for the first time. In the case of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, they have already worked with the respective Indian filmmaker. Ranbir, in fact made his silver screen debut for the director’s Saawariya which released in 2007 saw him alongside Sonam Kapoor. Alia, however, has also collaborated with Bhansali in the 2022 blockbuster Gangubai Kathiawadi.
The film Love and War will come to the cinemas on March 20, 2026.
