At the beginning of this year Firoz Nadiadwala and Akshay Kumar announced Welcome To The Jungle with a hilarious video. They also gave an overview of the star cast of the movie, which included almost every actor in the Indian Film Industry. One such actor was Sanjay Dutt who was casted by Ahmed Khan for a vital role in this movie.
But industry was shocked when it learnt that Sanjay is no longer part of this comedy flick. “Sanjay Dutt had mentioned his date clashes because of which he could not be part of it anymore; he had communicated all these issues to his friend Akshay Kumar who has taken them well,” says a source close to us. “Sanjay Dutt did not like how the shooting schedule for Welcome To The Jungle was being handled in an unsystematic manner with too many script changes affecting his shooting diary”, said a source familiar with the situation.
As far as filmmakers are concerned, Sanju has already shot for 15 days and now they have a dilemma- whether they should keep what has been shot by him or delete it altogether and take another shoot? It’s understood that some portions were filmed on Sanjay Dutt during first schedule and makers want to revive it just to give him credit for guest appearance.” The same insider added saying that the team has thought up some crazy idea about making him disappear after few initial frames.
The key actors in Welcome To The Jungle include Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal and Suniel Shetty along with Jacqueline Fernandez, Lara Dutta, Raveena Tandon, Disha Patani among others. It will hit theaters at Christmas time in 2024.
