EXCLUSIVE: Qawwali singer Sagar Bhatia to make playback singing debut with Akshay Kumar starrer Sarfira.
Sagar is about to make his debut as a playback singer in Sarfira, which stars Akshay Kumar. The film also has a qawwali song sung by Sagar Bhatia called ‘Khudaya’ that will add depth to the story. This achievement excited the singer and he said, “Proud and ecstatic to reveal my Bollywood playback singing debut! This is a milestone I’ve always dreamed of. Sharing a piece of our heart with you. I can’t wait for you all to hear this one.”
Dharma Cornerstone Agency signed the artist and this is their first collaboration. While touring worldwide using his concept Sagar Wali Qawwali, millions of enthusiasts gathered from far and near for his music. His covers of iconic retro Hindi songs made him famous, while he received enormous ratings for his own compositions as well. Some of his other tracks are like ‘Mera Ishq’, ‘Royi Hovegi’ and ‘Ishq Ch Kamli’.
Additionally, it should be mention that Karan Johar’s Dharma Cornerstone Agency has signed on the artist for another project which makes it that much more meaningful that this would be their first collaborative movie together. It should also be note hereabouts that besides Akshay Kumar. Who plays the protagonist there are Radhika Madan and Paresh Rawal.
Sarfira happens to be an official Hindi remake of the successful Tamil film Soorarai Pottru (2020) which hit theaters last year; despite being set in rural India instead of an urban sprawl such as Mumbai like most Bollywood movies do these days (excepting some) but unfortunately ended up not being screened widely outside its state within country maybe due lack marketing efforts or budget constraints because it did not have big star cast attached with themselves except Suriya Sivakumar who played lead role.
