BREAKING NEWS: Munjya passed through CBFC with no cuts; paid previews in selective cinemas on 6th June, Thursday.
Cinema lovers day offer was able to take a good start for the film watching season by selling tickets for Rs. 99 only in most theatres last week when Mr & Mrs Mahi got released. All eyes are now on this week’s big Hind release Munjya. This is part of the Maddock Supernatural Universe which also includes Stree (2018) and Bhediya (2022). With Munjya hitting cinemas next Friday, Bollywood Hungama brings you two exciting and exclusive news.
On Tuesday, June 4th, Censor process of Munjya has completed. The U/A certificate has been given to it by the Central Board of Film Certificate (CBFC). Strangely enough, not even a single cut whether audio or visual has been asked for by the CBFC’s Examining Committee. According to the censor certificate, the film is 123 minutes long meaning that it would run for two plus three minute episodes.
According to official information from sources close to the production unit, paid previews for Munjya will be held on Thursday June 6th. Therefore people who love watching movies can get a chance to enjoy horror comedy one day before its full fledged release. “Usually paid previews begin at six pm onwards on Thursdays,” said an industry insider commenting on why they started late this time around. In this case of their screenings though they happen after ten-thirty p.m or eleven-00p.m maybe because of how scary they feel.
Munjya stars Abhay Verma and Sharvari as lead actors. Sharvari has appeared glamorous in her song ‘Taras’ and promotional events related to this movie. However while Aditya Sarpotdar directs Munjya Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films are producing the film.
The other major release this week, which is a Hollywood flick named Bad Boys: Ride Or Die featuring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence shall also have its paid previews on June 6. It had been speculated that it will be released in full on Thursday. However, most properties will only start showing it from seven o’clock onwards.
