In 2022, the celebrated film-maker Madhur Bhandarkar made a double treat for his fans; he had two releases, both for OTTs. The first one, Babli Bouncer, was Tamannaah Bhatia’s starrer while the second one was India Lockdown an intense drama thriller. It has been a long time since the award-winning director-producer made news and Bollywood Hungama has learnt that he is busy working on his next project. This happens to be his next project which by coincidence will be a sequel to one of his famous movies Fashion (2008).
According to source, “Madhur Bhandarkar is scripting for the Sequel. This theme will focus on today’s context in the fashion industry. The previous part landed in 2006 when so much has changed in terms of looks and all other aspects about the same field we are going to explore further in different ways with some more storylines”
The insider added, “He already has spoken with a producer who is ready to back him up on making Fashion 2 but at the same time there is an OTT platform who have shown interest in its continuation although they want it as series.”
Again, “Because of this Madhur Bhandarkar now wonders whether or not Fashion should have a film sequel or web series. He will make decision within few weeks from today and then he’ll commence signing actors.”
And both Priyanka Chopra and Kangana Ranaut won National Awards for Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress respectively for their roles in Fashion. It narrated how Meghana Mathur (Priyanka Chopra), a small-town girl became supermodel and how her life changed for worse. At the same time Kangana Ranaut portrayed Shonali Gujral another top model whose world came tumbling down around her ears. Apart from the aforementioned actresses, other cast members in the movie were Mugdha Godse, Arjan Bajwa, Samir Soni, Arbaaz Khan Chitrashi Rawat among others. Fashion was released on Diwali in 2008 and was an instant hit due to its well-written script, direction, performances and soulful music by Salim-Sulaiman.
