The announcement of the release date is only making things worse, with the anticipation for Border 2 growing bigger and bigger. The producers of the upcoming Sunny Deol film have now engaged screenwriter Sumit Arora to write his next war drama.
For instance, Sumit Arora wrote Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan (2023), Chandu Champion with Kartik Aaryan (2024), and The Family Man with Manoj Bajpayee.
According to insiders, Border 2 is currently in full swing pre-production, necessitating a script that matches its predecessor’s name. “Sumit is currently finishing the script, as the team wants to officially announce the film with a locked cast soon,” informs Bollywood Hungama by quoting its source.
The sequel will be directed by Anurag Singh who also helmed the original starring Sunny Deol, which was a box office hit. J P Dutta’s daughter Nidhi Dutta and Binnoy K Gandhi are producing it along with him. Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar will also produce under their T-Series banner.
It was announced in June that this movie would be released which makes it one of the most awaited films in Bollywood today. While many names are floating around about who could fill out Border 2’s remaining roles – from Ayushmann Khurrana to Diljit Dosanjh – Binnoy K Gandhi spoke exclusively to Bollywood Hungama during a recent interview where he stated, “Soon we will reveal our star cast at an event outside Mumbai within a month from now itself.”
“I have just completed my directorial debut Ghudchadi for which I had been promoting since last month,” says Binnoy K Gandhi over a phone conversation with Bollywood Hungama recently published online. “This is going to be an extravagant affair where we shall unveil every single actor along with their respective acts on stage.”
