Ishq Vishk Rebound, a youthful entertainer, is all set to release this week and its makers have completed its Censor process in advance. It was given the censor certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) as far back as June 10. The CBFC passed the rom-com with a U/A certificate with two modifications.
The first modification demanded that an image of middle finger be blurred by the Examining Committee of the CBFC. On top of that, any scenes portraying alcohol had a caption at the bottom of the screen which talked about it.
Strangely enough however, Ishq Vishk Rebound is listed on its censor certificate as being exactly 106 minutes long. In other words, it runs for only 1 hour and 46 minutes. This makes it one of the smallest big Hindi films in years.
Such recent films include Raksha Bandhan (2022; 110 minutes), Dhokha – Round D Corner (2022; 108 minutes), Kuttey (2023; 108 minutes) etc having duration not exceeding or equal to 110 minutes. A minute less than Zwigato’s run time of 105 minutes was taken up by Zwigato (2023). However, hardly few people saw it since it had a very limited theatrical release. Sunny Singh-starrer Jai Mummy Di (2020) hold records for being shortest major release before Ishq Vishk Rebound. It played in around 750-800 screens and lasted for just over one hundred three minutes.
Commenting on this multiplex official said “It’s common for Hollywood movies to have durations between one hour forty and fifty mins but we were pleasantly surprised when we saw the running time. For a Bollywood movie this is quite unusual lengthwise speaking.” Therefore if need arises some days may contain six or even seven shows per screen from Ishq Vishk Rebound.
Rohit Saraf, Pashmina Roshan, Jibraan Khan and Naila Grrewal are the stars of Ishq Vishk Rebound. It is directed by Nipun Avinash Dharmadhikari and produced by Ramesh Taurani’s Tips Films. Release date is 21st June in theaters across the country.
