Ameesha Patel turned another year older on June 9 and disclosed an interesting update about her upcoming film Humraaz 2 to Bollywood Hungama while celebrating life and her recent successes. For the uninitiated, earlier in February this year, there were reports that filmmakers Abbas – Mustan were planning a sequel to their cult suspense-thriller of 2002 which starred Ameesha as the lead actress together with Bobby Deol and Akshaye Khanna.
To talk about the film now, Ameesha Patel confirmed they are indeed they are planning to make a sequel to Humraaz. As a matter of fact, she also initiated discussion with them “Well Humraaz 2 is on the cards and it will definitely happen. I actually met directors Abbas and Mustan Bhai also sometime back either for days or weeks before. They were like, you know we crack a script and then we want to elevate it to another level so they’re in the processes of fine tuning that, you’ll hear the announcement when they’re ready very soon,” she told Bollywood Hungama.
While it appears as though she is already part of its second instalment; Bobby Deol who is currently one busy star due to stupendous success of Animal is yet to disclose whether he would be returning for the franchise or not. Additionally, Akshaye Khanna who portrayed antagonist in this prequel has kept quiet on any possible follow-up until now.
On another note however, Ameesha Patel also revealed that Gadar director Anil Sharma too wishes continuing with his franchise after its sequel entered Rs.200 crore club in 2023. While stating that Gadar 3 is also happening she did not unveil more details about this project as well.
