Former Pakistan PM Imran Khan on Friday admitted to the fact that he had made ‘anti-military’ posts comparing the present political situation of the country with the fall of Dhaka in 1971. Nonetheless, he distanced himself from the accompanying video while under detention, noting that he was not in aware of its content.
He said, “I have read it and I believe there are no lessons to be learned from it.” This means that at some point he cannot change what has been written about him in this report which clearly shows his involvement in all those things that happened during his rule.
The Dawn further reported that Imran Khan expressed his remorse about previous remarks relating to Mujeeb adding that when he made them he did not know anything about the contents of Hamoodur Rehman Commission Report.
Khan also added: “You will see every time they come here it’s just basic economic theory…this is nothing new.” According to him, PDM government’s amendments to accountability law cost Rs.1100 billion of national exchequer, which an already “on its knees” country cannot afford.
“Everyone should read the Hamood ur Rahman Commission Report and see who betrayed Pakistan,” wrote a post on social media by Mr. Imran Khan last night.
Imran’s team posted these words on May 26 along with a video comparing General Yahya Khan or Sheikh Mujibur Rahman military leaderships.
