Uddhav Thackeray, the Chief of Shiv Sena (UBT) and Former Chief Minister of Maharashtra has hit at Chief Minister Eknath Shinde saying the state ever since shinde became cm numerous projects that would have benefitted the state have been taken by gujarat.
“While I was the Chief Minister, did you hear even a single story that any project from here went over to Gujarat? In Last two and the half years say when this Mindhe (Shinde) became the Chief Minister so much and industry has gone to Gujarat. They are carrying everything to Gujarat. Even the economic hub of Mumbai has also been shifted to Gujarat. We are not only in a struggle to be in the position of power, our struggle is against the plunder of Maharashtra,” Mr. Thackeray said in Ramtek where he was unveiling the statue of Maratha Warrior King Prithviraj Chavan.
In the two years, he justified that there has been no chance for Maharashtra to draw the attention of available projects and related industries to itself but to its nearby state of Gujarat.
In this regard, it should be figured that a deal was struck between Vedanta-Foxconn with the state of Gujarat in September 2022 regarding the 1.54 lakh crore Semiconductor Project to be located in the city of Ahmedabad. Mr. Thackeray further claimed Home Minister Amit Shah wants to “do away” with him and NCP president Sharad Pawar.
“Mohan Bhagwatji (RSS chief), isn’t it wrong for you to support the Hindutva of the BJP? Thugs are coming into this BJP; rogues are coming in. Is this something that you condone? Amit Shah is coming to kill me and Sharad Pawar, why would you allow us to be killed? Only my people can kill me, not Amit Shah. If my people want me to sit at home, I will sit at home; if I am asked to sit at home by someone from Delhi, my people will sit that someone at home. I will put an end to all the looting and destruction that has been going on in Maharashtra”, he said.
Mr. Thackeray too attacked, Maharashtra Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde for the falling of the Shivaji statue at the Malvan fort in Sindhudurg and called it a shame for the State.
On August 26, a 35-foot bronze statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Sindhudurg district fell down. It was launched in Navy Day celebrations on December 4 last year and was unveiled by prime minister Narendra Modi. The fall of the statue of the founder of the Maratha empire sparked a political battle as leaders of state politics went for blame game, with the opposition targeting the Eknath Shinde led administration for failing to redeem the statue.
