Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar has visited Jharkhand for the first time during the election period on September 23, 2024 to assess election preparedness for the forthcoming assembly polls as per an official, Tuesday.
During the two-day visit of this team, they shall be having several sittings with the political parties, enforcement agencies as well as government officers.
‘An official in the media and communication department, Jharkhand, said “On Monday (September 23, 2024), four meetings are scheduled and among the delegates that were confirmed are representatives of nine parties: six national parties and three regional parties, as well as some high-ranking civil and police officials.”’
Mr. Kumar said the team would also clock include meeting with district election officers and yes, Superintendents of police Inspector generals and dau insitu general officers nd police officer on Tuesday (September 24, 2024).
Mr. Kumar, while interacting with the media, said that it would be reviewing the poll preparedness, law and order situation and different kinds of election-related issues during the meetings.
Jharkhand is also holding the assembly elections sometime towards the end of this year.
Legislative Assembly elections for 81 members were held on November 30, and December 20, between five phases with Gautam Rao every chief secretary s resignation sealed in December 23.
