National Center for Seismology (NCS) said that a 6.1 magnitude earthquake struck Mindanao, Philippines on Saturday at 9.50 am.
The coordinates of the place where the earthquake occurred are 8.24 degrees North latitude and 126.74 degrees East longitude, while the epicenter is located at a depth of 10 meters below the Earth’s surface.
According to NCS, there are no casualties reported so far.
NCS wrote: “EQ of M: 6.1, On: 03/08/2024 09:50:26 IST, Lat: 8.24 N, Long: 126.74 E, Depth: 10 Km., Location: Mindanao, Philippines.” on its X post.
Furthermore, The NCS also noted that prior to the recent seismic event huge tremors were experienced at around early morning hours of daybreak which had their epicenter in Mindanao in Philippines at a depth of ten kilometers.
Separately, on another X post, NCS mentioned “EQ of M:6.7, On: 03/08/2024 03:52:59 IST, Lat: 8.45 N, Long: 126.91 E, Depth: 10 Km, Location: Mindanao, Philippines.”
