Kalki 2898 AD, which has been greatly anticipated, was released today and had a promising start at the box office. The movie has generated a lot of buzz because of its star-studded cast, futuristic theme and connection with mythology as well. From the trailers, it is clear that this is one film that needs to be watched on a big screen. The movie has not only lived up to most expectations. But also given an unexpected number of special appearances by known faces in Bollywood much to the surprise of many. Actually it is hard to find many other movies like Kalki-2898 AD that have so many cameo appearances.
Mrunal Thakur who’s doing wonders in South Indian cinema plays a pivotal role in the beginning of this film. Her The Family Star (2024) co-star Vijay Deverakonda and Sita Raman (2022). Co-star Dulquer Salmaan are also seen in the film in interesting characters.
But there is even more than that! Always outspoken director Ram Gopal Varma made his first ever comic appearance here. That’s why it’s no wonder that now his scene is clapped at or whistled after by people across India. Finally we see SS Rajamouli who gave us Baahubali and turned India into RRR (2022) for appearing as an amazing mass character here. In fact, among the different Easter Eggs delivered during this movie dialogue contributes to making it entertaining.

As its title implies, it is set in future and bears a relation with mythology as well. A mega event was held in Mumbai last week that saw the presence of Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Kamal Haasan. During this occasion, Amitabh Bachchan surprised everyone by touching C Aswani Dutt’s feet.
