The President Donald Trump has stated that Vice President Kamala Harris is “vicious and dumb” when he was interviewed by The Post on the Monday which seems to be among his first public declarations since the departure of President Biden from the presidential race according to New York Post.
At 78 years old, Donald Trump ridiculed her a day after Biden formally left the race and endorsed her as his successor.“Two words can describe Kamala Harris: brutal and dim. That’s not a good combination,” Trump said, in order to show how much he hated the vice president.
Harris is now trying hard to cement Democratic support before a virtual vote is expected to confirm her transition from being Biden’s vice president to become the party’s Presidential hopeful at 59.
During her campaign for Democrats’ recent primary, Harris—a former California senator and prosecutor—made headlines by attacking Joe Biden over his past stance on busing black kids alongside white ones. Pointedly asking him during a debate in 2019: “There was a little girl in California who was part of the second class to integrate her public schools, and she was bused to school every day. That little girl was me!”
The First Lady of America Jill Biden is believed to have been infuriated by Harris’s attack with reports indicating that she had commented on them in annoyance even as some time back Harris had joined other women accusing Biden of inappropriate behavior saying, “I believe them, and I respect them being able to tell their story and having the courage to do it.”
There are also several controversies about Harris’s career. Overseeing 1,900 marijuana convictions while serving as San Francisco district attorney despite having admitted smoking marijuana while listening Tupac and Snoop Dogg while in college during an interview held in 2019.
August 2020 release of Donald Trump campaign ad branding her as ‘phony’ came after Joseph R. Biden Jr., announced Senator Kamala D. Harris as his running mate. Very recently, however, Trump has mocked her with the term “Laffin’ Kamala” and has accused her of speaking in what he calls “word salads” meaning nothing.
If Harris wins the Democratic nomination, Republicans will likely target her time as Biden’s Border Czar when apprehensions of illegal border crossers are soaring in 2021.
When asked about Trump’s recent remarks, Ammar Moussa, a spokesperson for the Biden campaign forwarded an earlier statement highlighting how Harris prioritizes justice while contrasting it with Trump’s alleged self-interest. A previous release therefore stated: “Vice President Kamala Harris has held criminals accountable her entire career — and Donald Trump will be no different.”; That quote read: “Vice President Harris has dedicated her career to making life better for working people — while Trump only cares about himself. That’s the contrast the American people will see over the next 106 days.”
