The office of CEO New Delhi has inked a deal with Rapido, which is a bike-taxi provider so as to enable provision free rides for voters from the polling stations to their homes on the polling day.
A statement issued by Delhi Chief Electoral Officer (CEO’s) office confirms that this collaboration aims at addressing transport challenges during this year’s Lok Sabha election day scheduled for May 25th and encourage more people to vote.
During voting time, you can request for free services from your respective polling stations in Delhi up to your home through Rapido.
According to the statement, citizens are able to use the Rapido app to book free boda-boda rides on Election Day. The same statement assures that designated riders will be positioned in all Polling Stations take home voters safely afterwards.
“By offering free bike rides on the day of polls we want to facilitate a hassle-free voting process and also encourage our citizens to cast their votes and participate in democratic processes,” said P. Krishnamurthy, CEO- New Delhi. We need every vote and every eligible voter should not be inhibited by anything when it comes his/her period of casting ballots.
Delhi alone has eight million registered users out of total 8000000 bike-drivers associated with Rapido. And convenience plus safety shall cover all bikers across whole claim area while at selected booths according to an official script.
