As the Georgia election interference charge against Donald Trump and others is being reviewed by an appeals court, it has been temporarily stopped. The order of the Georgia Court of Appeals on Wednesday means that Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee cannot proceed with pretrial motion as he had intended when appeal is pending.
Starting from November, there have been speculations that the case might not go on trial considering that Trump will be vying as a Republican presidential candidate; however, this development seals this possibility for good.
Trump and 18 other individuals were charged in August by a Fulton County grand jury for engaging in an extensive conspiracy to overturning Georgia’s presidential election of 2020 illegally. Four criminal cases are against him alone.
