India and France are going to hold their 7th joint military exercise Shakti on May 13-26 at Umroi, Meghalaya.
Actually, the purpose of this exercise is to enhance the joint military capabilities of both sides in conducting multi-domain operations in sub-conventional scenarios. This was explained by Indian Army.
In addition to that, such joint exercises will promote interoperability develop close ties affable, and friendship between the two countries’ armed forces.
The #IndianArmy shares details of upcoming exercise, says ‘Exercise #Shakti 7th 2024’ Joint Military Exercise version The match between #India and #France will be held from 13th to 26th May 2024 at #Umroi in #Meghalaya. The purpose of the exercise is to enhance the joint military capabilities of both parties in conducting multi-domain operations in sub-conventional scenarios. The joint exercise will promote the development of #interoperability, #bonhomie and #camaraderie between the two countries’ armed forces.
The sixth Indo-French joint army exercise “Ex Shakti 2021” was held at Draguignan Military School (France) in November 2021.
Indian Army’s contingent consisted of three officers, three junior officers and thirty-seven soldiers from one battalion Gurkha Rifles along with support weapons.
It mainly dealt with such issues as planning together mutual understanding operational conduct including identification coordination aspects required for successful combined counter-terrorism operations under UN mandate.
Also participating contingents received combat training and tactical level training which included marksmanship training as well as “combat intensive” exercises. The exercise lasted for two phases culminating in a grueling thirty six hour practical test designed took place verify standards achieved throughout both phases.
Earlier this year from April 22nd to April Chief Defense Staff (CDS), General Anil Chauhan visited France
Its purpose is to further consolidate the strong defense ties between the two countries which have developed significantly in recent years.
