On Tuesday (September 17, 2024), Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge made some remarks that if his party is voted to power, it can assure the people that it respects the claims over Jammu and Kashmir and will make sure that the status of Union territory is varied into that of a state eventually.” The HC e-governance project will be implemented throughout India as per the central schemes.

Attaching images of the seven guarantees promised by the Congress in the run up to the Assembly polls, Mr. Kharge noted one of the elections and promised more employment: “I assure you that one lakh government jobs will be filled, the new energy will be infused into the youth.”

He added, “The Congress respects the claims that exist as of now over the state of Jammu and Kashmir. We will get J&K its Territorial Legislative Assembly back. We will provide Jammu and Kashmir with the status of a full State.”

Mr. Kharge also showcased other development free healthcare to every family worth ₹25 lakh and super-specialty hospitals in every district. He said that will make a healthy nation.

“The resettlement scheme for Pandits of Kashmiri origin as envisaged by Dr. Manmohan Singh will be taken to further steps. The rights of the OBC class as per the Indian Constitution will be assured, ” Mr. Kharge said.

The party promised to offer among youth unemployed allowance to qualified youths of Jammu & Kashmir up to ₹3500 for a period of one year for the qualified youth.

The party has promised within a period of 30 days after the formulation of the job calendar one lakh vacancies within the government shall be filled.

The manifesto states that emigration borders particularly for police, fire brigade and forest protection force will be revived with strong special police recruitment. Similar undertaking will be resumed with respect to the scheme of giving 30% of the construction work contracts to the unemployed engineers’ groups. “We will de-centralize the administrative slimming process for passport issuance and out of order for government jobs within reasonable time limits,” the manifesto reads.

Mr. Khera said, “The long night is over. There is a new dawn. Haath badlega Jammu aur Kashmir ke haalaat. Congress will be the balm for these wounds.”
