Stating that they would not be intimidated by the ‘toxic mentality’ of the RSS-BJP, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Saturday (September 21, 2024) announced that his party was gearing up to take up the issue of threats posed to Rahul Gandhi wherein the Party Chief raised alertness.
He also proffered the question whether Modi had conviction, with regards to disciplinary action, upon Bharatiya Janata party members proposing disrespectful language against the opposition Leader of the House.
“BJP, RSS leaders, especially MLAs and ministers: They say that our leaders should be given the trouser, that they should be cut using knives, that their tongues should be cut off. For speaking the truth, an icon like Rahul Gandhi suffers hatred and smear campaigns just the way they did to his grandmother Indira Gandhi,” Mr Kharge told reporters in Jammu.
“Tolerance towards such hate-filled speeches of BJP and RSS is what the PM is practicing. He has feared these leaders so much that he has not been in a position to discipline them and even take measures against their anti-social activities,” Mr Kharge said.
Mr. Kharge who was in Jammu to canvass votes for the Congress nominees in the ongoing Assembly elections said Mr. Gandhi was being branded as ‘Terror’ ‘anti-national’ ‘provoked people’ and that the PM is promoting such acts and turning people as antagonistic without acting against oppression.
