Union Minister Piyush Goyal took a jibe at the Congress party’s appeasement policy, saying the party was even trying to create chaos in society and divide people through their schemes. He said that although the Indian group said it would appoint five prime ministers in five years, they were still unable to reveal the specific names.
Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, in an exclusive interview with Network18 Group Editor-in-Chief Rahul Joshi, slammed the Congress’ manifesto and said the party is still contemplating appeasement and following what Sam Pitroda has shown economic path.
“For them (Congress), the politics of discrimination is still a priority. They are trying to create chaos in society and we feel the need to put it in front of people properly. I don’t think we have stopped talking about development and positive agenda,” Goyal told CNN-News18.
Sam Pitroda, who resigned as chairman of the Indian Overseas Congress Party over controversial remarks about race in India, raised the issue of inheritance laws weeks ago and cited the United States as an example in support of it. His comments sparked a political battle and Congress distanced itself from his remarks.
When asked why the BJP raised the Hindu-Muslim issue during the election campaign in Rajasthan, Goyal clarified that his party did not initiate the discussion. “We have always had a vision of how to become a developed India during Amrit Khar’s tenure and what steps will be taken in this direction during our third term.”
He further said that in all the speeches, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP chief Nadda and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and even other candidates were approached “in a positive manner” People, promote a positive narrative”.
On the India Group’s plan for “five prime ministers”, Goyal said the opposition parties are yet to decide who will be these people. He emphasized that “this election will determine whether Modi becomes prime minister, or it is a question mark.” Because although they said they will appoint five prime ministers in five years, they cannot yet say who the five will be and who will be The first one.
A few weeks ago, Prime Minister Modi told an election rally in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, that the opposition had chalked out a plan to have five prime ministers in five years and then mint coins if voted to power. He also said that the Indian bloc plans to “amend” the constitution after coming to power and ensure reservations based on religion.
When asked why the Prime Minister felt that the Congress manifesto bore the hallmarks of the Muslim League, Goyal said: “If you look at the entire history of the Congress party, you will find that they have existed on the basis of language, country, religion and even race. Discrimination. They are even dividing people through their plans. What is the Sahar Committee? It is so unfortunate that they ask people in every state for their policies or plans against Muslims. Road or rail infrastructure, do we have to decide how much reserve space to keep for Muslims to use the road?
The Sachar Commission was established in 2005 by former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to draw national attention to the issue of Muslims in India.
Goyal said the Congress has fought for reservation for Muslims in Karnataka in this election. “These words are spoken by the Muslim League. Their actions and statements, in their manifestos and their work in a few states, look at how they are constantly insulting Lord Shri Ram and boycotting the ‘pran of Ram temples pratishtha”, questioning the existence of the saint Ram, some Congress leaders said they must purify the Ram temple; when all these statements come out and see in this context these people claim that a community should have the first right to the resources of the country then you can judge their statements like the Muslim League,” the minister said.
