On Tuesday, the union home minister Amit Shah accused the Congress of being against backward classes. He also said that if the party takes power in Haryana it will take away their reservation and give it to Muslims.
At a ‘Backward Classes Samman Sammelan’, Mr. Shah referred to Kaka Kalekar Commission established in the 1950s to reserve seats for Other Backward Classes (OBCs) and stated that Congress didn’t act on its recommendations for years.
“In 1980, Mrs. Gandhi put Mandal Commission in cold storage until it was finally accepted by Rajiv Gandhi who gave a two-hour speech opposing OBC reservation,” noted Mr. Shah.
“In Karnataka, Congress took away reservation for backward classes from them and gave it to Muslims. The same thing can happen here if they come,” said Mr. Shah.
“I want you to know that we won’t allow Muslim reservation in Haryana,” he remarked. He assured that BJP would be forming government with full majority in Haryana.
This year later at some point, there is scheduled another assembly election of Haryana state
Income limit for OBCs
Accordingly, recently just before some times back under Nayab Singh Saini’s leadership as CM has increased the annual income limit of creamy layer of OBCs from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 8 lakh.

Moreover, this Chief Minister also made an announcement about Group A and B posts reserved quota meant for backward class rights which are currently set at 15% but will go up to 27% following Central govt.’s policy”
To sum up on this matter of “Haryan Maange Hisaab” campaign launched by congress targeting senior congress leader ex-CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Mr. Shah noted, “Hooda sahab you have to give an account of 10 years of misgovernance and depriving Haryana of development.”
On Monday, congress launched ‘Haryana Maange Hisab’ campaign in which it will accuse the ruling BJP on different fronts including unemployment and law and order prior to assembly polls.
Last week opposition party had released a charge sheet against the state government accusing it for not delivering on employment generation, maintaining law and order and saving farmers.
In less than a month, this was Shah’s second visit to Haryana. During extended meeting of the state executive committee at Panchkula, he spoke at length with his colleagues in Party on June 29th.
