The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won its eight MP seats because of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), according to TPCC spokesperson Chanagani Dayakar. But, he noted that in the forthcoming local body elections, BJP will not have any major impact.
While addressing journalists at Gandhi Bhavan yesterday, this statement nullified the BJP’s win by stating that their MPs would not add much value to the state as Kishan Reddy, Union Minister too did nothing significant for the past ten years.
The Congress leader said: “Eight MP Seats won by BJP will have no impact on AP and Telangana States. They will only sleep in Parliament.” He gave a breakdown of the election percentages which showed that BRS received 37.35% votes during last year’s Assembly elections but this figure went down to 16.68% during these recent Lok Sabha elections. The BRS was accused of shifting its vote bank to BJP which caused it to rise from 13.90% in Assembly elections up to 35.08% in Lok Sabha polls. Furthermore, he rubbished such claims about Modi wave and maintained that there was a secret pact between both BRS and BJP during LS polls.
Alluding to national politics, Mr Dayakar said Narendra Modi could be India’s Prime Minister due to TDP and RJD alone; adding ‘’Mr Modi led NDA government can falter anytime as congress support is growing all over India’’.
