In a forested area in northwestern Delhi near Mukherjee Nagar, the police reported that the body of a civil services student has been discovered hanged from a tree in a decomposed state on Monday, 23rd September 2024.

Mr. Deepak Kumar Meena’s dead body was retrieved from the forest located in front of a library of a coaching Center of Pitampura on September 20, and Deepak hailing from Dausa district of Rajasthan was reported missing for a number of days, as admitted.

According to an official in charge of the investigation, Meena was believed to have committed suicide.

Investigation is going on. “CCTV footage has already been viewed and it is believed that this is a suicide case. Investigation is ongoing,” he said.

Mr. Meena’s father C. L. Meena reported to the Police his son had come to Delhi in July to prepare for the mains examination of the Union Public Service Commission after qualifying the preliminary examinations.

He would make sure to have a phone call home every evening. The last communication the family had with him was on September 10, Meena’s father revealed.

He was not able to make phone calls for people’s senses from 11 to 13 September and the fury of his father C. L. Meena after these drove him to Delhi to join the hunt for his son.

He went into his son’s PG accommodation where his roommates claimed that the son was out for two days. After this, he lodged a report at Mukherjee Nagar police station.

During the searches, they found the body of Meena in the jungle nearby the institute which he used to attend classes. It is suspected that he had gone to the jungle after coming out of the class, the officer noted.

They laid the bag of Meena on the same tree from which they found the outer garments while he stated that no note was left with regard to suicide.

The dead body was given to the relatives after postmortem examination.
