A CIA official has reported that a foiled scheme had terrorists intending to murder “tens of thousands” of fans at Taylor Swift’s concert in Vienna, something that resulted in the cancellation of all three of her Eras Tour activities in Austria earlier in the month.
At the same time, the Deputy Director of the CIA, David S Cohen, stated during the annual Intelligence Summit near Washington DC that this had been an ISIS related conspiracy that had been burst thanks to a number of relayed briefs containing operational intelligence from the CIA and other involved nations.
It concerns Cohen who is reported in The Parami News deconstructing the seriousness of the danger: General, you should understand a huge number gathered and tens of thousands planned to be killed at this concert. Such Americans im sure were also in the plans.
The details about how the CIA learned of the plot were not made public. However, three people were detained in Austria in relation to the attack, a 19 year old Austrian, a 17 year old Austrian, and an 18 year old Iraqi. This plot is said to have been influenced by the Islamic State group.
On the eighth of August, thanks to Omar Haijawi-Pirchner, who heads the Austrian Directorate of State Security and Intelligence, the 19 year old suspect admitted to plotting an attack using explosives and knives during the bargaining concert.
‘His target was to be dead himself, and as many people as possible, during the concert,’ a press briefing was quoted by Le Monde as saying quoting Haijawi-Pirchner. The three performances which were canceled were predicted to attract a little over 20.3 crore audience.
Taylor Swift has spoken up about the event in a very sad post on Instagram. ‘The end of our shows in Vienna was heartbreaking,’ she says.
‘I was fearfully, and ungratefully throughout the time, waiting for this kind of news, for the reason of the rescheduled shows caused me a new kind of fear, and a lot of ungratefulness because so many people would have come for those shows.’ But I was also very thankful to the authorities, because because of them all, we were mourning concerts and not lives.
