It was on Thursday, July 18, 2024 that a four-year-old child is thought to have died of H1N1 (swine flu) in a private hospital in the city.
Case is being investigated by health authorities in Ernakulam for confirmation on child’s cause of death, not mentioned, but reported that his name was Liyon Libu and that he came from Elavamthurthil House, Varapuzha.
The child was admitted at the hospital on July 18 due to high fever. He was moved to ICU immediately after his condition had worsened. “He died…” Lourdes Hospital authorities stated this way at about 8:45 pm on Thursday according to them.
In relation to probe into what caused his death, the health officials said they would go and see what happened at his home.
They added that they should confirm whether it was the effect of H1N1 or not within a shot time.
