New Delhi: Amardeep Singh arrested by Canadian authorities. On 11 May, a man aged 22 was arrested for the fourth time, accused of killing Khalistani leader Hardeep Singh Nijar in Brampton, Surrey and Abbotsford.

The charges against Singh include first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder that he will soon be charged with once he is proven guilty by the Peel Regional Police According to the official news release.

Superintendent Mandeep Mooker, head of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT), stressed how important this arrest was since ‘this arrest demonstrates what we are doing with this investigation which is holding accountable those who played a role in Hardeep’s death’.

Nijjar was killed on June 18, 2023 outside the Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara in Surrey, British Columbia.

Before Singh was arrested for his involvement in Nijjar’s death IHIT investigators had earlier detained three other Indian nationals Karan Brar (22), Kamalpreet Singh (22) and Karanpreet Singh (28) who all live in Ed Monton. They were both charged with first degree murder as well as conspiracy to commit murder.
