A Cab driver allegedly ran away with a breath-testing device during a drink-driving checkpoint set up by the Bowenpally police last night.
Bowenpally Police said that at 1am, they stopped a man in a sedan car which had a number plate meant for hire cars. “As our officer was checking his breath, he dropped it before the accused fled in his cab. Our guess is that he might have been drunk and took advantage of this,” added the police, saying that he escaped towards Suchitra on National Highway 44. Search for him has proved futile so far hence efforts are being made to check CCTV footage along the highway to trace him.
